A personal auto policy does not cover a work truck.
If a vehicle is titled to your business, or your employees drive their own cars for work, you need a commercial auto policy. It covers the vehicles, the drivers, and your liability, and it is what lets us issue the certificates your customers ask for.

What does commercial auto cover?
The vehicles your business uses, whoever is driving them, and the liability that follows a work-related accident.
Vehicles the business owns
Trucks, vans, and cars titled to the company are listed on the policy with liability and, where you add it, coverage for damage to the vehicle itself.
Hired and non-owned autos
Covers rented vehicles and employees' personal cars while they are being driven for the business — the gap most owners do not know they have.
Certificates of insurance
Tell us who the certificate is for and what wording their contract requires, and we issue it from the office.
Drivers on the policy
Who drives matters to the carrier. We go through your driver list and tell you how records affect what you are quoted.
How the vehicle is used
Hauling, delivery, and passenger transport are rated differently. Describing the use accurately is what keeps a claim from being contested.
Equipment inside the vehicle
Tools and equipment in the van are not covered by the auto policy. They belong on a separate inland marine or contents coverage, which we can write alongside.
What else falls under commercial auto?
The policy that covers your own vehicles, and the one that covers vehicles your customers leave with you.
Business auto
Covers the vehicles titled to the business, the people who drive them, and your liability when one of them causes a loss.
Garage keepers
Covers customers' vehicles while they are in your care at your shop or lot, which a standard business auto policy does not do.
Not sure this is the one? Start with what happened.
You are opening a business and need your first policies in place.
You hired your first employee in California and need workers' comp.
Your renewal arrived and you want someone to look at it properly.
Your renewal arrived with a higher premium and no explanation of what changed.
Why people move their policies here.
What it's like to have one agency for everything.
You'll know what's excluded before you sign
We go through what the policy does not pay for — water backup, roof settlement, ordinance and law, wildfire smoke limits — while you can still change it. Surprises belong before the claim, not after.
The same two people know your whole file
Home, auto, business — it's all with the same office, and the same two people remember your last call. You never start over with someone new or re-explain your house at renewal.
Choices, explained side by side
We're an independent agency. We put several California-admitted carriers next to each other and show you the differences in writing, so the decision is yours to make.
Straight answers, in their words.
“PLACEHOLDER_ verbatim Kevin Cox review pending. Quote as written, including the typo; trim with an ellipsis if needed.”
“PLACEHOLDER_ verbatim Joni Mckamey review pending (names Tony).”
“One call, every policy in the house, and the same person every time.”
The things we can say plainly.
