Placentia

Insurance for Placentia Homes and Small Businesses

Placentia is mostly flat, established neighborhoods, which usually means wildfire scoring is not the deciding factor here. What decides it is the age of the house: roof, panel, and plumbing. We quote California-admitted carriers by address and tell you which updates change the answer.

You'll know what's excluded before you sign.

What Should Placentia Homeowners Watch For?

Age-of-home questions. Much of Placentia was built in an era where original panels and galvanized supply lines are still in place, and both come up in underwriting.

Water damage from aging supply lines is one of the more common homeowners claims we see in older tracts, and sewer or drain backup is usually an endorsement rather than something included.

For rentals and duplexes, the landlord's policy and the tenant's renters policy do different jobs. We write both and make sure the lease requirements line up.

Why Michael Duvall Insurance Agency

Why people move their policies here.

What it's like to have one agency for everything.

  • You'll know what's excluded before you sign

We go through what the policy does not pay for — water backup, roof settlement, ordinance and law, wildfire smoke limits — while you can still change it. Surprises belong before the claim, not after.

  • The same two people know your whole file

Home, auto, business — it's all with the same office, and the same two people remember your last call. You never start over with someone new or re-explain your house at renewal.

  • Choices, explained side by side

We're an independent agency. We put several California-admitted carriers next to each other and show you the differences in writing, so the decision is yours to make.

Questions

Placentia Insurance — FAQ

Is water backup covered on my Placentia policy?+
Usually not unless it was added. Sewer and drain backup is an endorsement on most California homeowners forms, and it is one of the first gaps we point out on older homes. We will show you where your current policy stands.
Do galvanized pipes affect my quote?+
They can. Some carriers ask whether the home has been repiped and price accordingly. If you have had it done, the invoice or permit belongs in the application.
I rent out a house in Placentia. What do I need?+
A landlord policy for the structure and your liability, and a renters policy carried by the tenant for their belongings. We can write the landlord policy and issue the tenant requirements for your lease.
